Year 6 Aviation Academy visit

3o pupils selected for their critical thinking and teamwork skills recently took part in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) event at the Norwich Aviation Academy. They were faced with a number of design challenges and performed well.

A design challenge to create a strong shelter.
Learning to use coding to navigate a robot through a maze.
Many overcame a fear of heights by taking on the zip-wire challenge.
Learning to climb and placing your trust in your friends to belay the rope.

School Play

Year 6 have been told about this years school play which is Wind in the Willows. Those who would to audition have taken audition pieces to look at over the weekend. Auditions will be Monday lunchtime and Tuesday if we need to carry them over. There will also be singing auditions for those who would like singing parts on Wednesday.

Play week will be the week commencing Monday 24th June. We will need all children who are cast, here all week. Dress rehearsal to the school will be Monday 1st July and the 2 performances to parents will be Tuesday 2nd July. An afternoon and evening performance. Please can you make sure your child can attend all of these days before they audition. It is essential that they they attend every day.

Sportshall success

Congratulations to the Year 5/6 indoor athletics team who finished as runners-up in the county final at the UEA Sportspark today.  They all tried their best and there were some notable performances on the track and in the various field events. They had the added thrill of receiving their medals from Iona Lake, the local athlete who competed for England in the Commonwealth games.
